When you love something you sometimes find yourself becoming radicalized when it comes to wanting to protect it. That’s what nature is slowly becoming for me. As a witch that is continuing to grow and build upon her practice, learning about local land spirits has been a mission I pride myself on. I’d like to call myself a forest witch, but my practice isn’t only in the forest – it is wherever nature is. That could be on the shores of the great lakes, the fields where the native plants thrive, or here, in the forest where old trees guard the waterways and animals.
The more I learn, the more I love it, and the more I love it, the more I want to protect it. Which means, sometimes I come across as a crazy forest lady that hugs trees and rants about things people/ the world does to disrespect it.
So, come along with me while I visit some of my forest friends, give them a hug, and talk about why things need to change when it comes to our approach about nature.
